Fort Wayne's Masonic Temple

Facility Rental

The Masonic Temple is located at 216 E. Washington Boulevard in downtown Fort Wayne. The ballroom has a capacity of 400 guests with additional accommodations available on the mezzanine overlooking the ballroom. The Masonic Temple is viewed and rented directly through The Masonic Temple. Please call (260) 426-4728 to schedule an appointment.

Set-up/Clean-up

The Masonic Temple and/or LESSEE is responsible for all set-up and clean-up of tables and chairs. Access to the building for decoration, cake delivery, and entertainment set-up and clean-up should be coordinated through The Masonic Temple.

Catering Service

All Food and Beverage Service (excluding Specialty or Decorated Cakes) at The Masonic Temple is provided exclusively by The Lantern or Club Soda.

  • The Lantern’s staff will assist you and your guests with food and beverage service during the presentation of your food.
  • Cake Cutting and Buffet style service of your Wedding Cake is provided as requested.
  • The Lantern’s staff will clear the guest tables of plates and utensils. A final clear will occur immediately following the removal of the buffet.
  • The Lantern will provide white linen table clothes and white skirting for the head table, cake table, and gift table.
  • Please refer to the following pages for menu/beverage selections. We will gladly customize any menu to accommodate special needs and requests.
  • Table service and flatware will be disposable with the option of china service.
  • For China and Silverware please add $2.00 per guest.

Beverage Service

The Lantern is licensed by the State of Indiana to provide a complete alcoholic beverage selection (beer, wine, and alcohol) for your event. State Law prohibits any alcoholic beverages to be brought into the facility from an outside source. The Lantern will confiscate any alcoholic beverages on the premises not provided and served through its staff. The Lantern requires at least one officer on the premises during a function requesting alcoholic beverages. Should a LESSEE fail to provide adequate and appropriate security, The Lantern reserves the right to refuse service of Alcoholic Beverages.

Food Minimums and Guest Guarantees

A guaranteed minimum guest count and final menu selection are required for all functions fourteen (14) days prior to the function date. This number will be considered a firm minimum for billing purposes and may not be reduced. Guest count may be increased up to 48 hours prior to your event, not to exceed the maximum room capacity, with payment of the revised invoice due at the time of increase.

A minimum food purchase of $2,000.00 is required. If this minimum is not reached, there will be an additional charge of up to $500.00.

Security

The Lantern, in compliance with The Masonic Temple, reserves the right to require and shall procure Security provided by the Allen County Police Department for all functions for the time of the party plus ½ hour before and ½ hour after the event. 1 Officer is required for events with up to 175 guests. A minimum of 2 Officers are required for events of 176 or more guests. Additional officers may be required depending on the event. The charges for Security shall be assumed by the LESSEE and paid directly to the Officer(s) on duty at the time of the event at a rate of $18.00 per officer per hour.

Prices and Gratuities

  • Prices are subject to change without notice, up to thirty (30) days prior to your function date.
  • All prices and charges are subject to 17% service charge, 7% sales tax, and 1% food & beverage tax.
  • A 2% charge will be added to all payments made by Master Card or Visa.
  • A gratuity is NOT included in any of the prices, and is at your discretion and very much appreciated.
  • Please add a 15% Masonic Temple catering fee to all food and beverage items.
  • Wait staff is included during the time of buffet presentation. Additional staffing is available for $13.00 per staff member per hour.

Deposit, Payment, and Cancellation

  • An event is considered firm upon receipt of a signed catering agreement and deposit.
  • A deposit of $500.00 is required to secure The Lantern’s catering services at events held at The Masonic Temple and is due upon reserving the date.
  • The total estimated cost, based on the minimum guaranteed attendance figure and menu selection, must be paid at least ten (10) days prior to the function date, unless prior credit is established. Charges for additional guests over and above the guaranteed minimum attendance head count will be payable upon receipt of final invoice. Additional services provided on the day of the event must be paid for prior to the conclusion of the event.
  • Your catering deposit will be refunded if you cancel 30 days prior to your event.

Liability

The person, group, or organization contracting catering services from The Lantern will be held financially responsible for property damage by their guest(s). The Lantern will not be responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items at The Masonic Temple.

The Lantern will not assume the responsibility for property and equipment brought to or left at The Masonic Temple.
